DEATH CLAIMS G. H. CADD AT 79

George Henry Cadd, life-long resident of San Bernardino and retired employe of the Santa Fe shops, died yesterday at the age of 79.

Mr. Cadd, who had resided at the same address -- 1173 Spruce street -- for the past 44 years, succumbed after an illness of several years. He had been bed-ridden for the last three months.

A member of Native Sons of the Golden West, Odd Fellows and Woodmen the World, he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ida Cadd; four sisters. Mrs. J. J. Harris and Mrs. George McGarvey of San Bernardino; Mrs. Rose Beggs, Santa Ana, and Mrs. Della Louis, Little Rock, California; a brother, John Cadd, San Bernardino; three sons, Harry W. Cadd, Los Angeles; Louis F. Cadd, South Gate; and George Ray Cadd, Los Angeles; two daughters, Mrs. Leslie C. Williams, Las Vegas, and Mrs. William E. Canavan, Riverside; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements, in charge of Mark B. Shaw mortuary, are pending.

With officials of Arrowhead parlor, Native Sons of the Golden West, in charge, funeral services for George Henry Cadd were held at 2 p.m. yesterday at the Mark B. Shaw Memorial chapel.

President Eugene C. Ward and Chaplain Mark Watterson of the Native Sons officiated.

Two musical selections were played during the services. They were "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Sometime We'll Understand."

Pallbearers were William Jasper, Ed Poppett and Arthur Johnson, all of the Native Sons, and L. F. Harbauer, T. W. Duckworth and J. A. Hicks.

Interment was in City Cemetery.
