Virginia Rita Peczkowski, 86, passed away at 6:10 pm, Thursday, March 10, 2016 in Heritage Point Alzheimer's Special Care Center.

Virginia was born May 31, 1929 in South Bend to the late Albert and Theresa (Sosnowski) Knapp. On October 9, 1948, Virginia married Robert E. Peczkowski and he preceded her in death on May 19, 2015. Virginia was also preceded in death by brother, Arthur Knapp; and sister, Alice Szynski.

Virginia is survived by son, Kenneth (Sarah Bird) Peczkowski of South Bend; daughters, Jill M. Gibson of Ft. Mojave, AZ, and Jennifer A. Pursley of Littleton, CO; grandsons, Ryan Gibbons, and Jacob Pursley; granddaughters, Corinne (John) Bartley and Abigail Pursley; great-grandson, Jason; and her “Wawrzyniak” Cousins.

Virginia was a member of The Battell Tappers Dance Group. She loved working with children in the neighborhood and had a passion for art especially painting and gardening.

Visitation is 11am to 1pm, Tuesday, March 15, 2016 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. Funeral Ceremony is 1pm, Tuesday, March 15, 2016 in the Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at St Joseph Cemetery.
