Nelle L. Bowman, 95, passed away on Saturday, March, 5, 2016.

On February 28, 1921, Nelle was born in Motlow Creek, South Carolina, one of three daughters to the late Belton and Adeline Huggins Loftis. Following high school graduation, she attended Nursing School at Spartanburg General Hospital in Spartanburg, South Carolina where she earned her nursing degree. She utilized her skills by bravely enlisting in the United States Army to serve her country during World War II. Upon the end of her military career, Nelle married the love of her life, Victor Sherwood Bowman, and started a family. They moved to the Middle Georgia Area sixty-one years ago and she retired from Robins Air Force Base, where she worked for many years as a Registered Nurse.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Victor S. Bowman, her daughter, Karen Bowman and brother, Frank Loftis.

Nelle leaves her memory behind with her loving sons, Victor S. Bowman, Jr. (Carolyn) of Seaside, Florida and Kenneth L. Bowman (Joyce) of Palm Beach, Florida; two grandchildren; sisters, Nanette Bolinger of Pennsylvania and Mary McMurray of North Carolina; and numerous adoring nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2016 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with visitation being held one hour prior. Following the service, Nelle will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
