Lorena was born in Portland, the daughter of Cora Conklin and John Smith. Lorena was a graduate of P.H.S. in 1921.
On June 1, 1927 she was united in marriage to Alfred Gehringer in Fowlerville. Alfred was the brother of Charlies Gehinger. Charlie Gehinger was a witness at the wedding.
