Dwight Walker Paulk, age 77, born in Savannah, TN, and died in Corinth, MS. He enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 17 and served for 21 years, attaining the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Most of his Naval career was spent as a navigator on ballistic missile submarines, his duties later involved piloting harbor tugboats. After several years working as a commercial fisherman, he continued serving his country with the Tennessee Valley Authority and the National Park Service, where he retired. He was a member of Savannah Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner.
He could always be found fishing, tending to his garden and honey bees. He was a firm believer in hard work and applied it to everything he did.
