Reba Thelma (Darnell) Russell
GATE CITY, Va. - Mrs. Reba Thelma Darnell Russell, 78, entered into rest Saturday (May 3, 2003) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Mrs. Russell was born in Scott County, Va., on April 9, 1925, daughter of the late K.H. "Bear" Darnell and the late Elva Rose Darnell.
In addition to her parents, a son, Roger Hamilton Russell, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela Sharon Russell, Kingsport; sons, Royden E. Russell and wife Judy, Kingsport, Danny Arthur Russell, Bluff City, and Dewayne Clark Russell and wife Darlene, Blackwater, Va.; grandchildren, Mark Evan Russell, Denay Russell and Jarred Dustin Russell; stepgrandchildren, Brandi Langrel and Kelli Langrel; sister, Irene D. Grizzle and husband James, Kingsport; brother, Paul Darnell and wife Shirley, Gate City; niece, Paula Barker; and nephew, Daniel Darnell; and special friend, Ruby McDavid.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Gate City Funeral Home.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Kyle Arnold officiating.
Bernard and Polly Lewis will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, Va. The family will be meeting at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the graveside service.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
