Singer. Born Myrtle Audrey Arinsberg, she was a popular singer who was best known for her number one hit "The Wayward Wind" in 1956. While in high school, she won a teenage singing contest and appeared on several television talent shows. In the early 1950s, she worked as an automobile salesman before going into a singing career. She performed first under the names Aubrey Brown and Aubrey Grant before settling with Gogi Grant. She recorded numerous songs during the 1950s including “Suddenly There’s A Valley”, “When The Tide Is High,” “Who Are We,” and “You’re In Love” before recording "The Wayward Wind" that became her biggest hit. The song hit number one on the charts in 1956 and returned to the Billboard 100 five years later in 1961. In 1957 she started working in the film industry and two years later she married attorney Robert Rifkind. She continued to record music throughout the 1960s, but her popularity declined. In her later years she appeared on various specials and was still performing as late as 2013.
