Scandinavian Monarch. King of Norway and Sweden. He was Hacon VI of Norway, also possibly Håkan III of Sweden (speculation) counting back hundreds of years through legends. He belonged to the Bielbo Dynasty as the son of King Magnus IV of Sweden, who also was Magnus VII of Norway. His mother was Queen Blanche who was a close relative of the French royal family. Through his genealogical inheritance from a grandmother Duchess Ingiburga, brief Queen Mother Regnant, he had succeeded his grandfather King Hacon V of Norway at the age of three and was the sole ruler there since his father King Magnus had abdicated that crown to him in 1355. Three years after the death of his revolutionary older brother King Eric the Rebel of Sweden, and the year after their old Norwegian grandmother's, Hacon, too, was at odds with his father and claimed and gained the Swedish kingdom. Soon Kings Hacon and Magnus were friends again and ruled Sweden together for exactly two years. In 1364, both lost the Swedish throne. Magnus was imprisoned in Stockholm for three years by a German nephew who had been called in to rule as King Albert of Sweden by noblemen opposed to Magnus and Hacon. The latter, badly wounded in one of the battles with Albert, withdrew to Norway and continued a successful reign there till his death in 1380. His wife Queen Margaret, daughter of King Waldemar IV Otherday of Denmark, then took over Norway for their 10 year old son Olaf. King Magnus had been killed there in a shipwreck on a bank of one of the fiords in 1374 at the age of 58, whereby Iceland also had fallen in under Hacon's scepter. His son Olaf was king of Denmark and Norway but died at only 17, a momentous death which ended all three of the old Swedish, Norwegian and Danish dynasties of kings.
