Luke was born September 20, 1980 in Morristown, NJ. He moved to Kansas City, MO at the age of 10. He graduated from Heartland High School.
Luke met the love of his life, Hope Avila-Davis in 2008 and they married on January 18, 2014. He was an amazing step-father to Ashley Avila and Alyson Silver.
Luke was in the Painter’s Union for 11 years, then went into home remodeling. He owned Royalty Remodeling and spent his time mastering his craft to build, fix, and create.
He was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Luke loved spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a spiritual, loving man who kept a positive attitude.
Luke is survived by his wife, Hope Davis; two step-daughters, Ashley Avila and Alyson Silver; his parents, Ian and Susan Davis; brother, Jared Davis; sisters, Tori Richman, Charity (Jeremy) Smith, and Pricilla (Joey) Glenn; six nieces and nephews, Zander and Bryson Richman, Arya and Gibson Smith, and Danielle and Brandon Avila; as well as many in-laws, aunts, uncles, and cousins whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edwin and Jane Davis and Joseph and Ellen Buckingham; and brother-in-law, Jake Richman.
It is not the years of a man, but the lives he touched during those years.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 13 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th St., Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 14, also at Hamilton’s, with burial to follow at Lincoln Cemetery in Alleman, Iowa.
