B.B. Witte Dies Saturday Morning
Bennie B Witte, farmer living seven miles southwest of Wahpeton died Saturday morning quite suddenly. He was born October 13, 1901 Ortonville, Minn. and came to Wahpeton vicinity in 1926. He was married to Olga Sedler at Wahpeton, March 24, 1927 and is survived by his wife and one daughter, Velma Marylin, 5 years old.
Besides his wife he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Margaret Prisinger of Milbank S.D. and brothers William of Ortonville, Firman of Browns Valley, MN; Frank and August of Correll, Minn. and Fred of Odessa, Minn.
Bennie B Witte, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Witte was born Oct 13th 1901 in Correll, Minn. He lived in his home of his parents for eighteen years when he moved to Milbank, S.D., where he engaged in farming pursuits.
March 24th, 1927 he was united in marriage to Miss Olga Sedler and they settled on a farm seven miles southwest of Wahpeton where they have since made their home. To this union one little daughter was born, Velma Marylin.
Early in life Mr. Witte was baptized into the Christian religion and united with the Congregational church of Correll.
For years he enjoyed the best of health but about two years ago he began to fail physically and passed away Saturday morning at 7 o'clock August 28th, 1937.
Mr. Witte was a hardworking man, a kind husband, a loving father and a good neighbor. He is survived by his mother, his devoted wife, daughter Velma, five brothers, two sisters and a host of loving friends.
The funeral services took place Tuesday afternoon, a brief service at the residence at 1:30 and at 2 o'clock at the Congregational church of Wahpeton, Rev. F W Hill, pastor of the Breckenridge Methodist church, officiating in the absence of the local pastor. Interment was in the Wahpeton cemetery.
