Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Kochnich.
She was employed as a seamstress for clothing factories in Lansford and York. She was a member of St. John Russian Orthodox Church, Nesquehoning, and was a member of St. John Chrysostom Orthodox Church, York. She was also a member of the Lioness Club. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking for her family, and staying current with politics and current events. She loved maintaining the traditions of the orthodox faith for the holidays and sharing them with her family. Mary was a strong person who influenced all those who had the opportunity to spend time with her. She will be deeply missed.
Surviving is a son, Ralph and his wife Elizabeth of Chadds Ford; three granddaughters, Tracey Delfranco, Kimberly Zamrowski, and Laura Gaughan; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Marianne Rupp; a sister, Anna Troycheck; and a brother, John Kochnich.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Interment will be held in St. John Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Nesquehoning. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home, Nesquehoning.
