Alice Faye Smith, 71, of Edinburgh, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at her residence.

She was born Oct. 13, 1944, in Edinburgh. She was the daughter of Samp D. and Mollie M. (Long) Whittington. She married Howard E. Smith on Feb. 5, 1961. He preceded her in death June 10, 2008.

She is survived by a son, Howard Tracy Smith of Edinburgh; daughters, Anita Perry(Jerry) of Columbus, Lottie Wathen (Phillip) of Edinburgh, and Michelle "Susie" Caster(Eddie) of Clarksville; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Peg Whittington of North Judson and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband: parents and brothers, Ora "Rusty" Whittington, Richard Whittington, Clarence Whittington, Bobby Joe Whittington, Sam Whittington, and Raymond L. Burton and sisters, Maggie Willy, Betty Gross, Janet L. Burton, and Shirley A Beechler.

She was a member of the Grace Tabernacle Church in Edinburgh. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.

The Rev. Terry England will conduct a memorial service at 1 p.m. Monday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh.
