Catherine "Katie" Mary Meyer, 69, departed this life on March 9, 2016, in Sidney, Ohio.
Catherine is survived by her brother Robert Meyer and sister-in-law Ruth Meyer of Anna, Ohio, and her sister Lucy Cook of Sidney. Aunt Katie was much loved by her nephew Alan Cook of Cincinnati, Ohio, and nieces Angela Cook of Oxford, Ohio, Sarah Cook of Irvine, California, and Rita Cook of Chicago, Illinois. Katie is also survived by an extended family of step-nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents Aloysius and Mary (Holthaus) Meyer, sister, Patricia Meyer, and brother-in-law John Cook.
Katie was retired from Gilardi Foods in Sidney. She was a graduate of Holy Angels. Her high school class recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of their graduation. Catherine liked to be called "Katie." Katie was a very devout member of Holy Angels Catholic Church and was a lay distributor. Katie loved to study theology and the Catholic faith. She also loved to read and always carried a few books with her wherever she went. Katie was a very kind and gentle person. She had a love for her pet dogs and all animals.
Friends may call on Monday, March 14, from 5 PM to 8 PM at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 15, at 10:30 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church, officiated by Rev. James Riehle, followed by burial at Graceland Cemetery.
