LCDR James J. Higgs, USN (Ret.), 54, passed away on March 9, 2016. He was born in Steubenville, OH. He is predeceased by his father, James Higgs; his father-in-law, Harold Engelhart; and brother, Tim.

James proudly served the US Navy and the US Army. He was a veteran of Operations Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. He was part of VF 84 Jolly Rogers fighter squadron on the USS Theodore Roosevelt. James and his wife owned and operated Printline Graphics. He was an avid cyclist and enjoyed RC helicopters and planes.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 30 years, Lori S. Higgs; daughters, Brittany Higgs and Casandra Higgs; mother, Ruth Grant Higgs; brother, Stacey Todd Higgs (Susan); mother-in-law, Sandra Engelhart; sister-in-law, Kimberly Cunningham; brothers-in-law, Dale Engelhart (Andrea) and Dean Engelhart (Jennifer); many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel on Sunday, Mar. 13, 2016, from 4 to 6 p.m. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cat Rescue Inc.
