Charles Arthur Hicks, age 81, of Bristol, Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at his residence. He was born March 29, 1940 in Bristol, Va., a son of the late Charles Edward and Lucille Pennington Hicks. Charles was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area. He retired from VDOT with over 40 years of service. Charles was a member of Tennessee Avenue Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Wingate Hicks; grandson, Brandon Estep; and sisters, Joann Swiney and Marie Phillips.
