DOYLESTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA - Christine W. Morgan of Doylestown, PA passed away in the Pine Run Health Center, Doylestown, PA on Thursday, March 10, 2016. She was 97.
Born in Kingston, PA to the late Francis and Emma (Schwager) Whiteman, Christine resided in Warminster, PA before moving to Doylestown, PA in 2002.
Christine was a graduate of Bucknell University Jr. College of Wilkes-Barre, PA and later was employed as an Executive Secretary with Bell Telephone of Philadelphia for 21 years, prior to retiring in 1982. She was a choir member of Springfield Methodist Church of Springfield, PA and later a member of the Warminster Presbyterian Church in 1982. Christine volunteered in the church office for many years and led a widows’ support group. She was also a chorus member at Pine Run Retirement Community.
She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick Morgan; devoted mother of Stephen (Lynnda) Bird, Deborah (Mark) Krick and the late Jeffrey Bird; loving grandmother of Matthew (Kathryn) Bird, Daniel (Melissa) Bird, Aaron, James and Michelle Krick; cherished great-grandmother of Gracyn, Jacob, Ethan, Audrey and Naomi Bird; dear sister and sister-in-law of the late Stephen and Doris Whiteman; also survived by a cousin Betty Burnaford and former wife of the late George Bird.
The family will receive their friends at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Saturday, March 12th from 8:30-9:00 am with a service to be held at 9:00 am.
Interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Horsham Twp., PA.
