SCOTTY KELTON LAWSON of Branchland, W.Va., born April 9, 1927, went to be the Lord on February 20, 2016, at Lincoln Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of eighty-eight years, ten months and eleven days. He was the son of the late Dana and Della Stowers Lawson and was also preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Mona Smith Lawson; brothers, Virgil Lawson, Ojay Lawson, Edgar Lawson; and granddaughter, Sarah Lawson.

He is survived by three sons, Scotty "Pat" Lawson of Branchland, Mike (Shelia) Lawson of Keyser, W.Va., and Dennis (Sherry) Lawson of Hamlin; two daughters, Linda (John) Beckelheimer of Pleasant View, W.Va., and Carol (David) Midkiff of Huntington, W.Va.; one brother, Charles (Marnie) Lawson of Las Vegas, Nev., and Mae McComas of Hamlin; special friends Remus and Linda Blankenship and Vernon and Sue Eplin; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was a member of the VFW, American Legion Post #111, Hamlin, W.Va., and a member of Branchland United Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2016, at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin. Funeral service will be noon Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, W.Va., with Rev. Lonnie Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Enon Cemetery, Salt Rock, W.Va., with military graveside rites by American Legion Post #111, Hamlin.
