Renee F. "BoPeep" Robinson, New Windsor, N.Y. retired entrepreneur of former Robinson's Lounge, Newburgh, and lifelong resident of the area, died Saturday, November 23, 2002 in St. Luke's Hospital. She was 66. The daughter of the late Merrill Robinson Sr. and Ida M. Perry Robinson, she was born May 26, 1936 in Newburgh. She was a graduate of Packard Business School, and a member of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church of Newburgh, the DeBettes, and the Majestics Club. Survivors include longtime companion, Cyril Gillette; brother, Merrill Robinson Jr. and his wife, Carrie, all of Newburgh; nieces, Renee F. Boyd of Poughkeepsie, Shawnta Douglas of Clinton, North Carolina, Juella Robinson-Guadalupe of Newburgh. Peppur Robinson-Stevenson of Fort Campbell, Kentucky; nephews, Warren "Nish" Boyd of Washington, D.C., Kevin Jackson of Denver, Colorado, and Jodis Robinson of Newburgh; six great nieces; two great nephews; and a host of friends, and close friends, Thomas and Lucille Hipp, and Warren E. Boyd Sr. She was predeceased by her sister, Marilyn "Puddie" Robinson. Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, November 27, in the AME Zion Church of Newburgh, 111 Washington Street, Newburgh. The funeral will begin at 8 p.m., with the eulogy being delivered by the pastor, the Reverend Twila Rucker-Caines. Her remains will be cremated at the convenience of the family.
