Jacob Donald Young, age 24 of Minneapolis MN and formerly of Hudson WI, died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 20, 2013.

Jacob was born on December 24, 1988 in Chippewa Falls WI to parents David and Tamra (Fetter) Young. His family moved to Rhinelander, WI shortly after his birth. In 1988, the family moved to Hudson, where he graduated from Hudson High School with the Class of 2007. Jacob furthered his education at Century College, where he earned his degree as a Facility Systems Technician. Before moving to Minneapolis, Jacob worked in Eau Claire for Midwest Manufacturing.

Jacob enjoyed being outdoors, where he could be found camping, fishing, and hiking. Jacob was sharp and creative. He had a mind for strategy games, and was gifted at building and fixing things. Jacob enjoyed working out and lifting weights, and was never one to shy away from hard work and physical labor. Jacob faced struggles, but with the full love and support of his family, received treatment and care at every step of the way. Jacob had much to offer this world, and will be missed by his family and friends.

Jacob is survived by his parents, father, David Young of Menomonie; mother, Tamra Young of Hudson; brothers, Aaron and Ethan; grandma, Valeria Fetter of Hudson; grandpa, James Young of Appleton; beloved dog, Bailey; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Donald A. Fetter; and grandma,Joyce Young.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00-6:30pm, with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 6:30pm, on Tuesday, June 25th at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th Street in Hudson.

Burial will be held at the Prairie View Cemetery in Chippewa Falls. Memorials are preferred to Union Gospel Mission - CRC Twin Cities, St. Paul, and Salvation Army Harbor Lights Center, Minneapolis.
