DECATUR – Harrell Young, 79, passed away Dec. 28, 2015 in Decatur, TX.
A memorial service was at 11 a.m. Jan. 2 at the First United Methodist Church in Bowie.
Harrell was born Oct. 1, 1936 in Baytown to Melvin and Beulah (Smith) Young.
He married Carrolee Gibson on July 1, 1957 in Anchorage, AK.
Harrell served his country in the United States Air Force and was a retired aircraft mechanic.
He loved fishing and bird watching. Harrell was a beloved husband, father and Papa.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Beulah Young; sons, John Young and Jerry Young; and grandson, Cory Young.
Harrell is survived by his wife, Carrolee Young; daughter, Carrie Boyd and husband Micky; daughter-in-law, Kelli Young; grandchildren, Jeff, Amanda, Starla, Mike, Ben, Amy, Kelly, Jennifer, Nick, Jenn, John, Jerry and Hayden; and numerous great grandchildren who adore him.
Arrangements have been entrusted to The White Family Funeral Home of Bowie.
