Carol Pointer 43, of Dewey, died at 12:50 p.m. in the Jane Phillips Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Pointer was born November 22, 1945, in Bartelsville to Jack and Helen Mae (Swain) Rickman. She grew up and received her education in Bartlesville where she attended Higland Park & Madison Junior High School. She was married to Gerald Pointer in 1962. They made their home in Corpus Christi, Texas, and Hawaii until 1969, when they moved to Bartlesville. Mr. & Mrs. Pointer have lived in the Bartlesville and Dewey area since that time. Mrs. Pointer owned and operated the Shirt Factory in Dewey for a few years. She was proceded in death by one sister Wilma Rotrammel; one brother Buddy Gage; and her father Jean Rickman.
Mrs. Pointer is survived by her husband Gerald Pointer of the home; three daughters: Sheli Ann Spears of Dewey, Kimberly June Pointer of Dewey and Andrea R. Pointer of Dewey. one son Thomas Boyd Pointer of Bartlesville; one sister Mrs. Jon (Judy) Gimlin of Bartlesville; two brothers Jerry Rickman of Atlanta GA., and Jimmy Rickman of Phoenix, Ariz; her mother Helen Rickman; four grandsons & two grandaughters.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pointer, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Pete Hollingsworth of the Miami Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be held in the Dewey Cemetery under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home.
A memorial has been established to the Jane Phillips Hopice-Bluestem Regional Medical Development Foundation, 3400 E. Frank Phillips Blvd., Bartlesville, 74006.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home.
