Douglas Allan Jones, age 48, of Flower Mound, Texas, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Flower Mound.
Born January 2, 1968 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to Theodore Evan Jones and Joan LaVaun (Hass) Jacobs. Doug married his sweetheart of almost 25 years, Serena (Nelson) Jones on July 11, 1991 in the Alberta Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Doug graduated from DeVry University with a Bachelor’s degree in computer science and had a successful career as a data intelligent and warehousing professional, most recently with IBM's social media analytics team. He was a man of integrity, lived his life to the fullest and loved his family with his whole heart.
He is survived by his wife, Serena, five children and a daughter-in-law: Benjamin (McKenna), Allie, Brendan, Josh and Emily. He is also survived by his mother, Joan (Gordon) Jacobs, and siblings: Penny (Barry) Freeman, Linda (Craig) Lundquist, Rema (Keith) McCrae, Mark (Robyn) Jones, David (Cathy) McGrath, Christopher (Natalie) Jones and Jennifer (Ben) Hurst. He is predeceased by his brother, Darren, father, Theodore Jones and step-father, Desmond McGrath.
