Michael James Conrad was born August 28, 1957 in Moline, IL, the son of James Michael and Carol Sue Conrad. He served his country in the US Navy near the end of the Vietnam War. He married Robin L. (Sackett) Garriott on August 11, 1976. He was a “jack of all trades” working most of his life in the construction industry.
Mike was a devout Iowa Hawkeyes fan. He enjoyed fishing, and playing cards and games. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his practical jokes and “speaking his own language”. Mike cherished his dogs and had a love for dolphins.
He is survived by his wife, Robin; father, James M. Conrad; children, Brandi Sue Leech (Pete), Connie Jo (Jason) Jacobs, Denise (John) Stablein; siblings, Anita (Bud) Hunter, Tom Conrad, Vickie (Jimmie) Nicewanner, Beth (John) Ronnau; half-sister, Shelly (Mike) Engelkens; 15 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Sue; sons-in-law, Scott Moore and Robert Leech; grandchildren, Taylar Jacobs and Samantha Stablein; and a brother, John Scott.
