Keather was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and sister. She was a friend to anyone she met, always going above and beyond. Keather was loyal to her church; Abilene Baptist and a shining example of a Christian. She enjoyed cooking and baking. She was a retired secretary for the HR department of Richmond County Board of Education.
Family members include her son: Bryan Kirkland and wife Regina; grandchildren: Hunter Jones, Jessie “Ben” Kirkland, Katie and Sean Kirkland; sisters: Sharon Strength and husband Don and Myron McCutcheon and husband Garry and many other loving family members.
A funeral service was held Friday, March 11, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. at Abilene Baptist Church with Rev. William F. Harrell and Rev. Terry Doss officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Gary Thigpen, Levar Johnson, Johnny Kitchens, Pete Garland, Rev. Henry Ingram, Buford Knight, Charlie Henderson and Gary Anderson. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Bill O’Leary Sunday school class.
