PROMINENT RENO RESIDENT TAKEN BY DEATH

Mrs. Emma Walker Simmons, widow of the late William H. Simmons, died at the home of her son, F. W. Eccles, on Ridge Street, last night following a year's illness. Mr. Simmons died on July 3, 1928.

Mrs. Simmons, who before her marriage to Mr. Simmons in Salt Lake City in 1905 was Mrs. Emma Walker Eccles, came to Reno in 1907 when her husband organized the Reno Wholesale Grocer Company. She took a very prominent part in social and club affairs here for two decades.

She was a daughter of one of Utah's most prominent pioneer families and leaves several relatives residing in Salt Lake City and Ogden, including three sisters, Mrs. O.K. Lewis, Mrs. Walter Lewis and Mrs. Nell Stewart, all of Salt Lake City.

Her son, F.W. Eccles, and three grand children, reside in Reno.

Her father, the late Samuel Walker, was one of the pioneer business men of Salt Lake City and was prominent for many years in the affairs of that city and state.

The body will be taken to Salt Lake City tonight where funeral services and burial will take place.
