Harry was born the son of Harry and Naomi (Strickland) Christy on October 30, 1926, in Floris, Iowa. He was a graduate of Kirkwood. He served in the United States Army Airforce from 1944 until 1946 during World War II. He was united in marriage to Jessie Jean Adams on July 27, 1944, in Eddyville, Iowa. She survives of the home. Harry worked as a lineman for FMC for several years.
Survivors include wife Jessie Christy of the home; four beloved daughters Deborah Twesten and husband Jim of Linneus, Missouri, Norma Jean Mitchell and husband John of Atkins, Iowa, Barbara Orr of Baird, Texas, and Peggy Davis and husband Mitchael of Ocala, Florida; one son Don Christy and wife Lorie of Marengo, Iowa; three sisters Evelyn Potts of Burlington, Iowa, Rachel Swanson of Moline, Illinois, and Karen Meeker of Moline, Illinois; one son-in-law Dennis Wiley of Palo, Iowa; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren and one on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter Cheryl Wiley; and son-in-law Bob Orr.
Graveside service will be held at the Meadville Cemetery, Meadville, Missouri, on Friday, March 11, 2016, at 11:30 a.m.
