Brothers Die In Accident
Snohomish County Journal
By Diane Brooks

Two teenage brothers from Snohomish have been identified as the victims of yesterday morning's fatal accident on Highway 522. Tyler Ligtenberg, 16, and Andrew Ligtenberg, 14, were killed when their car collided with a utility vehicle at 7:25 a.m., just west of the Highway 2 overpass in Monroe.

The older teen was driving the car, which was headed east when it struck the oncoming vehicle in a westbound lane of Highway 522, the State Patrol said. Conditions were foggy and the road was wet. Both vehicles were totaled.

The driver of the utility vehicle, Robert Pilgrim, 28, of Monroe, was in satisfactory condition last night at General Hospital Medical Center in Everett.

Pilgrim's passengers, Charles Higgs, 34, of Monroe, and Victor Lau, 25, of Monroe, both were in satisfactory condition last night at Valley General Hospital in Monroe.
