Hazleton Plain Speaker; Saturday, July 19, 1947:
Mrs. John Cressman, 50, of 307 East Green street, West Hazleton, died at her home at 12:07 this morning. Her death followed an illness which lasted 11 months. Born in West Hazleton, she had lived her entire life in that community. The deceased was a member of the West Hazleton Trinity Lutheran Church.
Her husband, John, died four years ago. She is survived by the following children: Andrew, of this city; Alvin, Drums; Mrs. Alice Longenberger, of West Hazleton; Mrs. Lillian Rupert, of Ringtown; Norman, of this city; George, of West Hazleton; Mrs. Emma Brosky, of this city; Mrs. Eunice Horhak, of West Virginia; Emily, Joan, Sterling and Rose, all at home. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and three sisters: Mrs. Beatrice Horle, of New York; Mrs. Rose Haggerty and Mrs. Catherine Shema, both of this city. One brother, Theodore Craver, is living in New Jersey.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Krapf and Hughes Funeral home at 426 West Broad street. Rev. J. J. Neudoerfer will officiate and interment will be made in the Vine street cemetery. Friends may call Monday evening.
