James Richard Coots, age 73, died Wednesday March 9th at his Verona residence. He was a retired assembler with General Electric and a devoted husband and father. He is preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Ollie Williams Coots; brothers Denver, Elbert and Arnold Coots; sisters Ethel Howard and Ruth Taylor. Survivors include his wife Shirley( nee Brock) Coots; sons James "Greg" (Connie), David "Dave" (Joyce), Daniel "Dan" (Jamie) and Richard "Richie" (Ryan) Coots; sisters Helen Roark and Margie Partin; grandchildren Becky, Jessica and Corbin Coots; sister in law Delorise (Bob) Merkel; brother in law Mike (Carol) Brock and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday March 14th, beginning at 12 noon until the funeral service at 2pm, at Linnemann Funeral Home and Event Center, Burlington. Burial will follow in Burlington Cemetery.
