September 3, 1928 - March 6, 2016
Loris, SC

Mr. Cecil Milton Gause, age 87, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC following an illness.

Born on September 3, 1928 in Loris, SC, he was the son of the late George Milton Gause and the late Cora Ellen Todd Gause.

Mr. Gause served his country with courage and honor as United States Navy veteran of WWII. After the Navy, Mr. Gause helped start and was co-owner of Hardee Manufacturing Company. His excellence in sales allowed him to cultivate relationships with dealers all over the southeast and he relished this comradery.

Mr. Gause was an accomplished pilot and a longtime faithful member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church where he served as deacon, junior mentor and teacher throughout the years. He was a devout family man and a pillar of the community who will be truly missed.

Survivors include his son, Chris M. Gause and wife, Tracy of Loris, SC; two daughters, Pamala Gause Sowell and husband, Bruce of Lancaster, SC and Melody Mae Stevens and husband, Ken of Aiken, SC; one granddaughter, Bridget Prince of Loris, SC; one step-grandson, Timothy Lee Pennington, Jr. of Kannapolis, NC; two great-grandchildren, Trenton Jay Bonnett and Reece Logan Bonnett both of Loris, SC

In addition to his parents, Mr. Gause was predeceased by his wife, Lula Mae Bellamy Gause; one son, Wallace C. Gause, two sisters, Myrtle Ellen Barnhill and Pearl T. Shore and his brother, A.T. Gause.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Pastor Rodney Hord and Reverend Mack Hutson officiating. Committal services, with military honors, will follow at Twin City Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 6 until 8 PM at Hardwick Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 4301 Red Bluff Road, Loris, SC 29569.
