ALLIANCE -----Lynn R Bentley 76 died Thursday May 26 1994 at Box Butte General Hospital . He was born Oct 3 1917 at Miller Neb to Corwin and Clara Bentley He attended school in Miller and Kearney Neb and Parkman Wyo and graduated from Hardin (Mont) High School in 1937 He married Dorine Waterman of Hardin in Gillette Wyo on Sept 7 1941 He began work with the CB&Q Railroad in 1937 as a station helper. He later became a telegraph operator station agent and wire chief in the relay office in Sheridan and moved to Casper Wyo in 1944 as a dispatcher He moved to Alliance in 1960 where he continued to work as a dispatcher until he retired on July 1978 after 4 years of railroading He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Alliance Masonic Lodge of Casper, Burlington Veterans, Black Diamond Rails and president of the Panhandle Rails
Survivors include his wife Dorine Alliance, three children- Roger Bentley of Colorado Springs Colo , Patricia Hansen of Napoleon Mo and Richard Bentley of San Antonio Texas ; sisters Doris King of Boise Idaho, Mary Lou Blair of Hardin Mont and Ruby Maus of Moses Lake Wash; a brother Russell Bentley Forsyth Mont two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother
Funeral services were held at 10 am Monday May 30 at Bates-Gould Funeral Home with the Rev Pat Kelley officiating Burial will be in Hardin Mont with Masonic rites at graveside
