Francis P. Nennig, 91, of Cedarburg, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016, at Lasata Health Care Center in Cedarburg.

He was born on February 13, 1925, in Nenno, the son of the late Joseph and Anna (nee Hefter) Nennig and on May 15, 1948, he was united in marriage to Myra Abel at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend. Myra preceded Francis in death on September 28, 1996.

Francis served in the U.S. Army from March 1946 until September 1947. He worked as a truck driver for West Bend Transit & Service Company for 41 years before retiring. In his retirement, Francis worked as a custodian at St. John’s Lutheran Church in West Bend for many years. Francis was a 60 year member of the Fohl Martin American Legion Post #483 in Allenton.

Francis and Myra enjoyed traveling in their retirement with family and friends. Francis also enjoyed watching sports, taking bus trips to the casino, and fishing.

Those Francis leaves behind to cherish his memory include a son, Timothy (Holly) Nennig of Grafton; five grandchildren, Laurie (Larry) Batten of Mauston, Brian (Karen) Feucht of Newburg, Bailey Nennig of Chicago, Sadie Nennig of Atlanta and Alex Nennig of Grafton; two great-grandchildren, Tara and Conner Feucht of Newburg, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, Myra, Francis was preceded in death by a daughter, Dianne Klein; 5 brothers and 8 sisters.

Funeral Services for Francis will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2016, at Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., in West Bend. Rev. David Kellerman will be officiating and burial will take place on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.
