John A. Tillery, 91, died Feb. 24, 2016 at Horseshoe Bend, AR.
He was born Nov. 9, 1924 at Partridge, KS, the son of Roy and Sylvia (Lament) Tillery.
He graduated from Turon Kansas High School and Emporia State College.
John was an elementary teacher for 29 years. Before moving to Arizona, he taught at Cottonwood Falls and Parkerville, KS.
He married Arlene Pierpont in 1966 while teaching in Arizona.
Ater retiring, John and Arlene moved to Horseshoe Bend, AR. They enjoyed traveling, visiting relatives and they often attended the Turon Alumni Banquets.
John was a United States Army veteran serving during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene of the home; daughter Reba Ramsey-er [sic] and husband Bob of Farmington, MI; grandson Jacob; sisters, Ruth Bacon of Council Grove, KS and Lona McIver of Topeka, KS and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister Delna Thiessen and brother, Jerry Tillery.
