HOOK, Richard William Age 87, passed away on November 16, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Sarah (Kerr) Hook, his siblings, Charles and Ruth Hook, and his first wife, Lorraine (Herronen) Hook. Dick was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 21, 1927. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn (Janning) Hook and his two sons James (Patty) Hook and Robert Hook (Bridget Scanlon). Also survived by his grandchildren, Liz (Matt) Voto and baby Evelyn Rose, David Hook, Nathan Hook, Ruth Hook, and Samuel Hook. Dick is also survived by his step children, Tom (Suzanne) Janning, Don Janning (deceased 2004), Lynda (Ken) Jenson, Mike (Christine) Janning, Steve (Julie) Janning, and Carolyn Janning. Also 18 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Dick was a Corporal in the US Marine Corps. He served in both WWII and Korean Wars on Guam and the Mariana Islands. He served as Company Cook and shared many stories with his family about these experiences. He was a sales engineer for Ex-Cell-O and Textron for over 40 years. Dick was his sons' Little League baseball coach, trustee for FKAL (First Kettering Athletic League), and continued to support his grandchildren's sporting activities later in life. He was a lifelong supporter of education and served as PTA President for Fairmont West High School. Additionally, he served on the Kettering School Board. He was a big fan of University of Michigan football and UD Flyer's basketball! Services to be held Thursday, November 19th at Fairmont Presbyterian Church (3705 Far Hills Ave, Kettering, Ohio 45429). Visitation will begin at 3:00pm, followed by services at 4:00pm. Pastor Denise Weaver officiating. If desired, donations may be sent to one of Dick's favorite charities, Wounded Warriors, , or the Memorial Fund at Fairmont Presbyterian Church
