Brenda Gayle Nix, 67, of Wichita Falls, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016 in the East Sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls with Dr. Bob McCartney, officiating. Interment will follow at Bowman Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
Brenda was born on April 15, 1948 in Shay, Oklahoma to Coplin and Juanita (Thompson) Miller. On April 15, 1967, she married Dale Nix. Brenda was employed with First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls for many years. Her passion in life was her family, and her hobbies were her grandchildren. They considered her their #1 fan.
She was preceded in death by her father, Coplin Miller; grandson, Nicholas Cortez; and son-in-law Joe Cortez Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Dale Nix; her three daughters, LaDale Cortez of Wichita Falls, Christy Davidson and husband Jeremiah of Midland, and Tammy Hardin of Arlington; two sisters, Freda Waltz, and Mae Fieszel and husband Jimmy; four brothers, Danny Miller and wife Missy, Terry Miller and wife Debbie, Dennis Miller, and Gerald Miller and wife Judy; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Cameron, Jared, Kailiess and husband Jay, Daulton, Maddisson, and Mark Jr.; eight great-grandchildren, Corey, Caine, Cato, Kingston, Jarrin, Jayde, Jaislee, and J'Yia; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who were considered family.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
