Funeral services for Robert Haas , 85, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. Born Feb. 13, 1916, in Chicago, he died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, at Tabor Hills Health Center in Naperville. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Worth. Mr. Haas had remained in Chicago until 1982 when he moved to Tucson, Ariz., and then a year later to Naperville. He had retired in 1974 as a sergeant with the Chicago Police Department after 28 years of service. Afterwards he was employed by the University of Illinois as a security officer until 1981. An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he had been a member of the Judd Kendall VFW Post @#3873 in Naperville since 1983. Survivors include his children, Edward (Lucia) Haas of Coldwater, Mich., Jackie (Bob) Dieterle of Naperville, Robert J. Haas Jr. of Willow Springs and Terry (Jeff) Rausch of Naperville; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Haas (nee Stallmann); sons, Mickey Quinn and Tommy Haas ; brother, Edward Haas ; and sister, Jane Haas .
