Barbara Jean Bunner Watkins, Ph.D., 87, of Denton, passed away on March 5, 2016 in Denton, Texas.
She was born in Yazoo City, Mississippi on December 11, 1928 to James and Hazel (Vancleave) Bunner.
She married the late Dr. Ernest Watkins in Yazoo City in 1953.
She was a woman whose life truly epitomizes the meaning of serving God by loving others. Her deep relationship with Christ and her giving nature were well known throughout her Glory of Zion family and the community at large.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, husband and sister, Jean Banchetti.
She is survived by her two sons, Mark Watkins of Denton, Brent Watkins of Pilot Point, daughter, Kathy Smith of Spokane Washington, nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
