Athens-The bicyclist killed on Wednesday July 29, 2015 after being struck by an automobile, has been identified as Paul Brian Usery, 42 of Athens, according to Alabama State Police. Usery was riding his bike at 9:50 p.m. on Alabama 251 in between Highway 31 and I-65 near Athens. He died before emergency personnel arrived at the scene. The investigation is continuing.
Paul Brian Usery of Tony, AL passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015. He was born in Decatur, AL on February 21, 1973 to Paul J. Usery and Brenda Melton.
Graveside services will be Sunday, August 2, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. at Hodges Cemetery. Don Deshane will be officiating. There will be a visitation Sunday, August 2, 2015 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.
Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janice Dempsey Usery, son Jonathan Usery, daughter, Chasity Dempsey Austin. One grandson, Blake Dempsey, his parents, Paul J Usery and Brenda Usery one sister, Tammy(Frankie)Taymon.
Pallbearers will be Chris Reece, Jason Kellum, Zeke Downs, Rick Bartlett, Joseph Taymon and Bill Downs. Honorary pallbearer will be Shane Sims.
