Earl James Sharp was born February 22, 1931, in Melbourne, FL to Levi and Willie Mae Sharp. On August 14, 2015, surrounded by his family Earl left the cares of this world behind.

Earl attended Melbourne Vocational School and upon completion, he entered the United States Army. He was honorably discharged after serving two tours in Korea.

Upon returning home from the military, Earl held several jobs including Pan Am, Pantry Pride and Brevard County Sheriff’s Office as a supervisor over jail trustees. Earl retired from the county after 24 years of employment.

Earl was formerly married to Viola Pittman and together they had three children.

He attended St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, Mims, FL. He served faithfully on the trustee board under the leadership of the late Rev. Greene.

He is remembered by those who knew him as an all-around handyman and helped anyone in need.

Those left to cherish his memory include: children, Earl S. Sharpe (Lisa) of Valdosta, GA, Greg Sharp (Jamie) of Rockledge, FL and Carla Sharp of Titusville, FL; grandchildren, Isaac Watkins, Stacey Sharp, Nikkin Sharp, Rashad Sharp, Elliott Sharp, Erving Sharp, Nicole Sharp, Erien Rose; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary Green (James), Robert Sharp (Evelyn), Curtis Sharp (Elvera), Arthur Lee Sharp (Annette) and Shirley Sharp; and as host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of sorrowing friends.
