"The pains of death is Past Labor and sorrow ceases;
and life's long warfare closed at last, Her soul is found in peace."

Sister Mary Rogers was born in Charlotte, NC, June 16, 1885. She is the daughter of the late Hannah and Jim Cooper. Mary Rogers moved with her parents to Jennings, FL, at an early age. In 1905, she came to Titusville, FL, to visit her sister and liked the city so well that she moved here in 1906, and joined St. James A.M.E. Church under the pastorialship of Rev. C. J. Morton. She was the first licensed black beautician in Titusville, FL.

She was united in marriage to the late T. J. Rogers on November 17, 1907. To this union was born a daughter, Mrs. Eunice M. Rogers.

Sister Rogers worked untiringly in her church until she became incapacitated. While in good health, she was a member of Choir II for many years and Stewardess Boards I and II. She was very active in friend raising activities for our present edifice. Mrs. Rogers is a charter member for many, many years of the Ladies Aide Society and also a member of Felder's Chapter 34, Order of Eastern Star. Sister Rogers served as a Good Samaritan in the Community for many people who needed help.

She leaves a devoted and loving daughter, Eunice Allen; (2) Sons-in-law, Leroy Allen of Titusville, FL, and Frank P. Kater. Sr. of Miami, FL; (3) Granddaughters, Jackie Dixon of Syracuse, NY, and Mamie Jane Rogers of Columbus, OH and Sara Jenkins of Los Angeles, CA; a Grandson Jeffrey Allen of Buffalo, NY; (1) Great-Granddaughter, Carla Dixon of Syracuse, NY; (4) nieces: Marnie Cooper, Bertha Turner, Mahalia Green and Hattie Aubrey, ail of St. Petersburg, FL; Nephews: Joe Cooper. Jr. and Oscar Rogers of St. Petersburg, FL, and Henry Walker of Lakeland, FL; (2) Sisters-in-law and a host of foster children and sorrowing friends.

Her Toils are past - her work is done
and she is fully blessed
She fought the fight - the victory won
and entered into rest
Then let our sorrows cease to flow
God has recalled his own
But let our hearts in every Woe
Still say "Thou Will Be Done."
