Mrs. Emily Pilgrim Hawkins, 89, wife of the late Olin James Hawkins, of Newry, SC, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca.
A native of Iva, SC, Mrs. Hawkins was the daughter of the late Charles W. Pilgrim and Clara Mae Pilgrim. She was a housewife, a homemaker, and a member of the Newry Church of God.
Mrs. Hawkins is survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by her son: James "Toney" Hawkins; brothers: Charles, Wade and Robert Pilgrim.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at the Oconee Memorial Park Mausoleum in Seneca.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Oconee Memorial Park Mausoleum prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made in Mrs. Hawkins name to Cottingham Hospice House, c/o Oconee Hospice of the Foothills, Attn: Foundation Office, 298 Memorial Drive, Seneca, SC 29672.
