BARBER, LOIS F.

Age 85, of Harford, NY passed away Saturday, March 5th, 2016 at the Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca after a brief illness.

Lois was born May 12, 1930 in Guilford, NY, a daughter of the late Earl and Minnie Bush Fellows.

She was graduated from Marathon High School in 1947 and on June 19, 1948 was married to Salvador "Pete" Barber who survives. In 1992 she retired from Cornell University as an Administrative Aide after 25 years service. Lois was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church; a charter member of the Harford Fire Company and received a silver plate for 50 years of service at the fire company's 50th anniversary celebration. While living in Florida she was also a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed many things including traveling, boating, camping, bicycling, knitting, crocheting, playing cards, swimming and in recent years was hooked on golfing. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was always ready to tell whoever would listen about her children's and grandchildren's accomplishments. She made many new true friends while spending her retirement years in Frostproof, FL. She enjoyed a wonderful and blessed life.

Survivors include her loving husband of 67 years, Pete Barber at home, her daughters, Linda Barber of Dryden, Rosemary (Dana Seamans) Barber of Killawog and Darlene (Steven) Phillips of Marathon; a sister, Camilla Clough of Dryden; grandchildren, Chad Phillips, Jolene (Jordan) Betts, Alissa (Jay Faber) French and Megan (Joe) Reeder; great-grandchildren, Gabreella, Brenden, Bentley, Ava and Ryder; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by a sister, Marie Biviano and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, March 10th at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Stephanie Brown officiating.

Burial will follow at Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden.

Friends are invited to call Thursday from 12 Noon to 2 PM at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, NY.
