Marilyn Fulbright Clements joined the angels in heaven on Thursday, May 9, 2013. Marilyn was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on June 1, 1943 and was married to J.L. Clements on September 10, 1963; together they built a life filled with love and laughter.
Marilyn enjoyed a teaching career that spanned over 25 years, and she prided herself in knowing that her classroom was a place filled with devotion, learning, and laughter. But mainly she focused her attention on loving her husband, her children, and her grandchildren.
Marilyn was an active member of the United Methodist Church and a grand hostess to small groups, bridge parties, and loud, fun-filled, family dinners. Mostly, Marilyn was best a being Marilyn: wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and especially, Meme to her adoring grandchildren. Marilyn will be remembered for her love, loyalty, energy and ever-present laughter. The world's tremendous loss is heaven's gain. She will have the angels organized in no time!
Marilyn is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, J.L. Clements; their children, Stephanie and Wayne Robb, Ragon and Lanette Clements, and Ronnie and Leslie Clements; her mother, Geraldine Fulbright and her sisters and brother-in-law, Pam Killough, LaRhondda and Mike Hardy. Marilyn passes a legacy of love to her beloved grandchildren; Clayton Ridgley, Cheyenne and Phillip Voss, Logan Clements, Ashley Durrenberger, Peyton Clements, Chyna Clements, Haven Clements, Rhett Clements, Journey Clements, and Rylee Norris. Marilyn also leaves the love she shared with numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, colleagues and very special friends.
Marilyn Clements was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Arthur Fulbright as well as other dear friends and family members.
A service celebrating Marilyn's amazing life will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May, 18, 2013 at The Woodlands United Methodist Church, 7804 Rogers Ave., Fort Smith, AR under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
For those who wish to honor Marilyn, the family request donations be made to The Woodlands United Methodist Church.
