Catherine M. “Katie” Sessler-Lett, age 89, of Wilton, IA, died on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at the Wilton Retirement Community in Wilton, IA.

Katie was born March 7, 1926 to Emil and Mary (Farleigh) Walters in Littleton, CO. She obtained her Associate of Arts Degree from Scott Community College.

Katie married Earl Riggs on October 26, 1946 in Davenport, he preceded her in death on May 30, 1970. She then married Cornelius Gramkow on July 15, 1971 in Davenport. Katie later married Alfred H. Sessler on June 25, 1983 in Davenport. He preceded her in death on June 1, 1995. She then married Wilbert F. Lett on May 20, 1998 in Wilton. He preceded her in death on September 19, 2002.

She enjoyed music, dancing, painting, gardening, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Wilton and was also a member of the Ladies Aid.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 4-7 P.M., at Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton, IA. Additional visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at Zion Lutheran Church, Wilton.

Services will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016, at 10:30 A.M. at the Zion Lutheran Church.

Private family interment will take place at the Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport, IA.

Katie is survived and lovingly remembered by her sons, David (Lou Ellen) Riggs of Erie, PA, Christopher (Greg) Riggs-Gramkow of Denver, CO, step-daughter, Rebecca (Steve) Berry of Wilton, IA, and step-sons, Jeff (Maura) Gordon of Port Orange, FL, Scott Gordon of Krum, TX, and Dennis Lett of Wilton, IA. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Earl, Alfred, and Wilbert, 2 sisters (Marguerite and Darlene), brother (Richard) and half siblings (Crystal and Gerald).

Memorial donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or Wilton Retirement Community in her memory.
