Connie Rex Willis (Buddy) a resident of Dos Palos for 50 years passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Merced, California. Buddy was 85.

He was born July 18, 1930 in Burneyville, OK the son of Ossie and Lola B. (McKenzie) Willis. At 21 years old, he enrolled into the Army where he served as a Private First Class for three years with Honorable Discharge. Mr. Willis lived the majority of his adult life in California.

Buddy worked as a laborer for Pure Gro for many years, he loved to play cards as well as watch the Dallas Cowboys and LA Dodgers play. He was the President of the Resident Counsel at Franciscan Care Facility where he resided for the past six years.

Buddy enjoyed helping others, hanging with family, friends and listening to his favorite blues tunes. His favorite color was blue. He truly loved life and will be missed but always remembered for being a loving and caring man.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Ossie and Lola B. Willis, brothers; Eloma Willis, MC Willis and Raymond Willis, grandson; Andrew Maurice Jackson. 

He is survived by his children; Eunyce Peterson, Tarvaris Willis, Michael Hornbeck, Connie Kouwastica, Justin Willis, Jermaine Willis, Erika Willis and Bradley Willis; three sisters; Veller K. Howell, Ella B. Toles and Layette Holsteid; two brothers; Willie R. Willis and Michael Willis; 30 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 from 9 to 11 am at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel of Dos Palos. Graveside Service will be follow at 12:30 pm at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, CA.
