Their only child, Emily, married Captain John Hudson R.N. and Governor of the Queen's Bench Prison from 1843

Reverend Patrick was Rector of Ruckinge, Vicar of Stalisfield and also Perpetual Curate of Marr, York

He was also a Botanist - a collection of his papers 1815-1819 are held by the Linnean Society of London

He published two books; A System of Physiological Botany in 2 vols, 1816 and Botanical Lexicon, 1837
