Obituary of Glenda Watson

Funeral services for Glenda Leverl Watson, age 73, of Roanoke will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2016, at 2:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Dr. Steve Dempsey and Rev. Roger Young officiating. Burial will follow at Valley Grove Primitive Baptist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-8:00 PM on Saturday, March 5, 2015.

Mrs. Watson passed away Friday, March 04, 2016, at Roanoke Healthcare.

Survivors include: two daughters, Donna Benefield (Melissa) of Wedowee and Diddie Cast (Larry Sprinkle) of Anniston; one son, Tonda Benefield of Heflin; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lenda Hall of Jacksonville, AL, Gloria Morrison of Wedowee, and Glesia Ginn of Franklin, GA; and two brothers, Gary Lee Waters and Gunny Wayne Waters, both of Wedowee.

Pallbearers will be Tal Morrison, Lee Waters, Kyle Waters, David Roberts, Reco Sims, Kevin Daniel, and Phillip Morrison.

A Wedowee native, Mrs. Watson was born on January 11, 1943, the daughter of Leford and Verlin Daniel Waters. She was a member of Pilgrim’s Rest Baptist Church No. 2 and was a retired seamstress with Russell Manufacturing. Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Watson; two grandsons; and a granddaughter.
