Carolyn Adams Pendleton, 82, of Kingsport, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016. She is finally at peace and suffering no more.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow with Spurgeon McCart and Allison Turner officiating.

Carolyn Adams Pendleton, 82, of Kingsport, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016. She is finally at peace and suffering no more. Carolyn was a devoted wife and the greatest Mother and Grandmother to her entire family. She was there to help everybody, both as a friend and a care giver. She graduated from Dobyns- Bennett High School and attended University Of Tennessee. Carolyn was an accomplished dancer and instructor for the late Reese Toohey for many years. She participated in and won several local beauty pageants including the 1953 East TN Fair. She loved to play golf and was a 2 time Ridgefield Women’s Golf Champion. Carolyn was a long time member of the Ridgefield Garden Club. She loved spending time with her family and friends at their cabin at Wolf Laurel in NC. Carolyn was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Barney C. Pendleton.

Carolyn is survived by her son, David W. Pendleton and wife, Kim; daughter, Carol Ann Coker; grandchildren, Morgan and Taylor Pendleton, and Hannah and Holly Coker; step-grandchildren, Daniel Haulbrook and Jessica Coker; and brother, Don Adams and wife, Helen.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The memorial service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Dr. J. Spurgeon McCartt and Allison Turner officiating.

We want to especially thank all the wonderful caregivers that not only cared for her but loved her at Asbury, Preston Place II, and early on at home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Alzheimer’s Association, 207 N. Boone St., Johnson City, TN 37605.
