Geraldine Hawkins-Bipes, age 91 of Mauston, Wisconsin died peacefully Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Fairview Nursing Home in Mauston.
In accordance with her wishes, Geraldine was cremated. Memorial funeral services will be held Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the White Funeral Home in Burnsville, Minnesota with Pastor Jon G. Hawkins officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m. A private interment of the cremains in Elk River, Minnesota will follow the service and luncheon.
Geraldine was born on September 1, 1924 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Manford and Ida (Nelson) Ross. On June 25, 1941 Geraldine married Roy I. Hawkins in Elk River. Roy preceded her in death on January 17, 1981. On November 21, 1981 she married William Gordon Bipes. He preceded her in death on October 21, 2000.
While she lived in several areas of Minnesota, most of her life was spent near Rosemount, Minnesota. In 2001 she moved to the Mauston area to be near one of her children.
Geraldine is survived by all seven of her children, Bruce (Mary) Hawkins of Seattle, WA, Raymond Hawkins of Lakeville, MN, Glen (LaVerne) Hawkins of Riley, KS, Lee (Marnie) Hawkins of Hastings, MN, Brian (Kathy) Hawkins of Mauston, Betty Humphries of Apple Valley, MN and Barbara (Dennis) Smith of McGregor, MN; all six stepchildren, Darrell Bipes of Mountain Home, AR, John (Aileen) Bipes of Mankato, MN, David (Barbara) Bipes of Richfield, MN, Alvin (Muriel) Bipes of Plymouth, MN, Janet (Les) Weber of Mankato, and Joann (Steve) Zigler of Melrose, WI; 25 grandchildren; 20 step grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and 24 great step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; and brothers, Keith and Ronald Ross.
