Charles drowned to death in or near LeRoy, MN, on 8 Aug 1911, during a storm called "A Night of Terror" by the newspaper. He was swept away during a flash flood caused by the partial failure of "the old dam". By the end of the next day, his body had not been recovered. There is no known burial information.
